In a nutshell, JumboAccess.com is a collection of reviews written by students for students. In doing so, JA hopes to somewhat de-mystify the 'shopping period' for class registration and give students somewhere to start from when selecting classes. JumboAccess.com has been established such that all submissions received will be posted anonymously. Names of submitters are not wanted, nor will they be posted. Submissions may include: student's impressions of the class, topics covered, difficulty, course load, anaylsis of professor's teaching style, and any particularly noteworthy elements that students should be aware of in registering for such class. Any submissions that contain defamatory or libelous language are not tolerated. This site does not condone such activity and takes necessary actions to eliminate such language and/or submissions. All submissions on the site are reviewed by current students, or previous alumni who helped to run the site before they are published on the site. The reviews posted on the site themselves are not a synthesis of a number of reviews and each review represents the opinion of ONE student. Opinions are not facts. That is why we stress that JumboAccess is in no way a comprehensive guide, nor should it be the only resource a student should use in selecting classes. In fact, we encourage students to seek the advice of counselors, professors, friends, past students, and other resources when selecting classes -- this site is a starting point, a tool that all students are invited to use and help create. We do do our best to make sure that our reviews are not defamatory. We read through every review that gets submitted and do our best to ensure that there isn't anything defamatory or libelous in them. However, we're only human. The only way to get a very good (fair) read of a course is to have a good sample size of reviews for the course. We strongly urge professors to encourage all their students to submit reviews on JumboAccess -- as unlike the official reviews completed at the end of the semester (that other students never really get to see), the reviews posted on JumboAccess is a resource that is freely available to all students.
