Tufts University: GEO002 - Environmental Geology - Geology - Professor ratings, reviews and much more | JumboAccessReview:
The man does lack charisma, but in all other aspects he is an exemplary professor. Doesn't seem to mind questions in class (like other professors), explains things well (but I do fall asleep). You will learn a lot. The labs are awesome-Ridge constructs all these elaborate domahickers that show geologic processes very well-and he actually hangs out during lab to answer questions.
Workload:
Reading wasn't bad, and NO homework. Labs are MANDATORY but you couldn't call them work.

Boring, but thorough and willing to help you with questions. I learned a lot in the class. The tests are not hard if you study well.
Workload:
Not a lot of work at all, just going to lectures and lab. No homework or projects or anything.

Students learn a lot but class is SO boring and hard to motivate yourself to go to. There is a nice informal structure but the nature of the lecture and the sound of his voice make it very easy to fall asleep.
Workload:
Only a few tests and homework is pretty much optional, however you definitely have to do a lot of memorization before tests.
