This class is interesting at times, but at other times it's pretty boring and tedious.
Workload:
One homework per week and weekly quizzes. The quizzes start out very easy and in the middle of the semester become much more in-depth and difficult

Tufts University: AST021 - GALAXIES & THE UNIVERSE - Astronomy - Professor ratings, reviews and much more | JumboAccessReview:
Professor Zirbel is very knowledgeable and has a good grasp of astronomy. However, I felt the class could have been better structured. We were given four books to purchase, and most overlapped each other in content. This made the reading assignments excessively long, and simply redundant at times. In addition, all of the lectures were on powerpoint, which were easily accessed from the internet, meaning that it was never a big deal to skip class regularly. Finally, this is a class where you never need to use an equation. All of the tests were essay and short answer based. On a positive note, she offers many extra credit assignments.
Workload:
The workload was pretty normal for an average Tufts class.
