Tufts University: CHNS002 - ELEMENTARY CHINESE II - Chinese - Professor ratings, reviews and much more | JumboAccess
Zhiqiang Li | CHNS002 - ELEMENTARY CHINESE II | Chinese2006-07-12

Review:
The professor was very concerned with students' progress. He highly encouraged class involvement--he reinforced students' understanding by calling on multiple students to repeat the same new phrases. I learned a great deal in this class, and he also made the class fun. I wish I could take another class with him, but unfortunately he is leaving.

Workload:
The workbook lessons are pretty time-consuming, even though the professor cuts out the most unimportant sections. Don't fall behind or do the lessons at the last minute.

Mingquan Wang | CHNS002 - ELEMENTARY CHINESE II | Chinese2005-04-12

Review:
I really like this professor. He is sweet and understanding, clear and straightforward. He enjoys teaching and pays attention to every student. Very helpful after classes and always willing to stay behind if you need to talk. Plenty of time to give you.

Workload:
Chinese 2 is much more work than Chinese 1. The character list gets longer, memorization is essential, so don't get behind. There is a review test every two chapters or so, which is very helpful in making you keep up. Homework assignments are due for every chapter (one chapter per week about), but are very short. Small dictations every now and then. Basically small things spread out all over so that you never feel like there is a lot of work.
