Tufts University: ITAL001 - Elementary Italian 1 - Italian - Professor ratings, reviews and much more | JumboAccessReview:
Class is pretty boring, but it's pretty easy too. She's really lenient about handing in assignments late and not doing the assigned text book reading for that day--pretty much no one came to class prepared and she just accepted it. she's not very enthusiastic or particularly nice but she's by no means mean.
Workload:
4 tests, 4 mini essays and a bunch of vocab quizzes. as long as you study the text book before the tests you'll do fine.

This professor was pretty boring. Classes became really monotonous and we didn't do much more than exercises from the book during class. She was a decent professor, but not that engaging. I wouldn't take another course from this professor voluntarily. She's nice and fair, but just not that interesting.
Workload:
Moderate workload. Assignments were pretty straightforward.

Although the language is beautiful, I would not recommend taking Italian from this professor. She has a tendency to be condescending and seems bored all the time. The language almost makes up for the professor, but not quite. Take it from someone else if you can.
Workload:
Usually one very short assignment per class that is rarely collected. Semi-frequent vocabulary quizzes that are very short and easily aced.

Fantastic professor. Regrettably, I had to drop the class before the course was over, but for the two months I was in it, Isabella was a wonderful teacher. She is always willing to help, and you can tell that she really wants each student to succeed. I learned a ton from her; she is always full of energy and does her best to make class interesting. All in all, highly recommended.
Workload:
Decent amount of work, but it is mostly since you are starting a new language from scratch. Most work is done on your own (memorizing vocab, reviewing concepts before class) to prepare for what you are going to learn in class. A few small compositions, a few tests... all in all, very manageable. Assignments weren't confusing, and the professor was always willing to help. Tests were not bad at all... everything you need to know is in the book and taught in class.

I loved this class. Prof. Perricone was awesome- friendly, knowledgeable, understanding, and she really cared about the student and the Italian language. She had a great sense of humor and was just pleasant to be around.
Workload:
She stuck to the assigned syllabus, which I was very thankful for, having had teachers who strayed widely from what they originally intended. As long as you keep on top of the work, everything will go well.

Isabella is really upbeat and a great professor to start your day with. She's really fun and keeps the class moving right along. She also really cares about how you're doing and making sure you're learning the language. A great professor.
Workload:
The workload follows the normal curriculum syllabus for Italian 1&2: grammar exercises, listening exercises, compositions, and chapter tests. Two films are also included each term.
