Tufts University: Gloria Ascher - Judaic Studies - Professor ratings, reviews and much more | JumboAccess
Gloria Ascher | JS078 - Jewish Women | Judaic Studies2006-01-05

Review:
The professor is so concerned with a student's progress that she provides so many extra credits at her exams, theoretically you could get an A+++. She is so loveable and likes to go off into her monologues, most of which isn't even on the exams (two). A great class!!!

Workload:
Expect to do 10 minutes of work a week. Expect to take one hour if you're preparing a dish for the project. Note: there's one spot left to register but she over enrolls students. Like during the fall, she overenrolled by 14 students.

Gloria Ascher | JS078 - Jewish Women | Judaic Studies2005-12-13

Review:
She is one of the nicest professor at Tufts and one of the easiest graders in the history of schooling. She loves her Jewish culture and doesn't expect much from her students. Update: as of 12/13/05 there is one slot left for the course (which is a miracle) since this is like a 1/3 credit course and the time next semester is so convenient (4:30-5:45).

Workload:
Workload? Heck! She spends the first 20 minutes checking attendance. You may have to watch movies but that's the hard part. This course can satisfy one of the requirements too (humanities)! So get in on the sweepstakes cause there's only one spot left.

Gloria Ascher | JS073 - SEPHARDIC TRADITION | Judaic Studies2005-11-07

Review:
Gloria Ascher is one of the most passionate teachers I have encountered in Tufts. Her enthusiasm for her subject matter is contagious and evident in her teaching.

Workload:
Weekly readings. A Midterm a final and a project.
