Tufts University: Jean Wu - American Studies - Professor ratings, reviews and much more | JumboAccess
Review: This is the most empowering class I have ever taken. Often when studying sociology, politics, race, etc, I have felt overwhelmed with the problems facing the US. Professor Wu has taught this class to equip her students with historical knowledge, contemporary issues, and above all practical ways to become an active ally in fighting racism-towards Asian Americans and to a broader range of subordinated groups. She is the most passionate professor I have ever encountered, deeply concerned with her students' progress-for example, my weekly journals are covered with not only her questions and comments but also her enthusiastic YES! (es). The class diversity brings a wonderful working atmosphere to the classroom which many tufts courses lack. Overall, she is an engaging, intelligent professor with a relentless desire to educate.
