Review:
In my opinion Merzlak is an awful teacher. There is a reason why she hates having graduate students in classes... because they know more about the material than she does. I didn't learn anything from taking this course because of her. If you have a lot of background in Latin and considering majoring or minoring in the subject, then I would strongly consider asking permission to take a 100 level course in place of any course with this professor. I have no idea why she is still allowed to teach courses at Tufts. My only explanation is that the other professors, which in my experience are all awesome, don't want to teach the courses that she has to teach being only a lecturer.

Workload:
She is very easy. However, she can be unfair for instance she did not give anyone an A in the course when I took it, which is absurd considering the ability of many of the students in the course!
