Tufts University: John Durant - Civil Engineering - Professor ratings, reviews and much more | JumboAccess
Review:
Prof. Durant is great. But, if you're not really listening, you'll miss his quirky sense of humor. If you show you're willing to put forth the effort, he's willing to help you all he can. He really cares about the course and he's GREAT at the subject. Even if you're not an engineer, it's great to know about fluid flow - it applies to so many things. I never thought I'd actually like the course, honestly, but by the end of it, I really liked it! Don't get discouraged at first if you don't do as well as you'd like to, be willing to learn how to do well and work and you'll be fine.
Workload:
About average for a core engineering course. 3 exams, problem sets every week, and lab every other week. Work hard on the problem sets and study before exams and you'll be set. Don't slack on the homework and put everything off until right before the test - you probably won't do as well that way.
