Tufts University: Walter Stanul - Studio Art - Museum School - Professor ratings, reviews and much more | JumboAccess
Review: This class is awesome, although the name is a bit misleading. The class actually starts with making a Dulcimer (a small stringed instrument played across the lap), and if you have enough time/are willing to take it for a second semester, you can then build a guitar. Walter, though he can be a bit long winded with his stories at times, knows everything there is to know about building Dulcimers and Guitars, and he is there to help you whenever you need it during class, and he also runs the woodshops at not only the museum school but a few other places as well throughout the week, so if you need extra help outside of class, you can always go there and he'll help you. This class is a lot of fun, even if you're just starting out with woodworking and instrument making. The only downside to this class is that, including the time it takes to get over to the Museum School on the shuttle, plus the fact that the shuttle leaves at 5, it ends up taking up about 5 hours monday nights....but its worth it
Workload: Nothing outside of class, and nothing overwhelming in class.
