Tufts University: CD085 - Promoting Positive Youth Development - Child Development - Professor ratings, reviews and much more | JumboAccessReview:
I loved this class, and Dr. Lerner. He makes a real effort to make sure that everyone is learning, and he is passionate about the material. I thought the class was fascinating because it took all of the theory that we've learned in other CD classes and actually made it relevant to the real world. The class was eyeopening and definitely one of the best that I've taken at Tufts. Also, both Dr. Lerner and the TA were extremely accessible and would answer any questions you had, or meet with you at any time. Also, Dr. Lerner brings in big name guest lecturers 4 or 5 times during the semester, and they are all fascinating. Really a fantastic course, and very worth taking!
Workload:
A coursepack from Gnoman as well as one of Dr. Lerner's books, but reading is very minimal, and not that necessary to do as he covers most of the material in his lectures. Three 3-4 page reaction papers to speakers, as well as a 5 page midterm and final (both take home). He allows you to turn in as many drafts as you want, which is extremely helpful. There is also a presentation at the end of class, which requires little preparation time.
