Tufts University: CD173 - Curricula for Young Children: Math, Science, Technology - Child Development - Professor ratings, reviews and much more | JumboAccessReview: This course encouraged me to think outside the box. I was exposed to new ideas and really was able to understand the process of designing, presenting, testing, analyzing, my ideas through projects. Professor Bers was really concerned with our learning. The class is demanding but fun. You learn so much and I have no regrets. I think Professor Bers did a great job of integrating her area of expertise and interest--technology--with the realistic issues of science and math curriculum.
Her overall teaching style of trial and error, experimentation, and hands-on experience was really helpful.
Workload: The assignments often challenged me to think in new ways. Discussions and assignments were very interesting and related to the course. The final project was a great way to combine engineering and education. I did not have much experience with technology, and was intimidated at first, however, by the end you really learn how to use exciting technology for curriculum with kids--things like ROBOLAB and LOGO, etc.
