Tufts University: Rosemary Taylor - Sociology - Professor ratings, reviews and much more | JumboAccess
Rosemary Taylor | SOC102 - Qualitative Research Methods in Action | Sociology2005-12-22

Review:
Class could be interesting but this professor is SO disorganized. It took about 4-5 weeks for us to learn relevant info for our semester long projects and then we had to speed through to catch up and in order to stay afloat with our other classes. She could be a wealth of information but because of it, I think she becomes overwhelmed. Once she learns to put her priorities in order--the way she tells her students to--or the Tufts administrators stop dumping so much on her plate--she will be an asset to anything she does!

Rosemary Taylor | SOC108 - Epidemics | Sociology2005-06-28

Review:
Other reviews of Prof. Taylor are very unfair - keep in mind that people are most likely to write a review or evaluation if they are dissatisfied. While Prof. Taylor's lectures can be on the dull side, the material is always interesting, she is a very pleasant and reasonable professor, and has a high tolerance for alternative views, ideas, and suggestions from the class. She is very disorganized, and this shows in the lectures, but the material is worth it if you do the work on your own.

Workload:
A lot of reading and not very many "concrete" assignments like papers. 1 midterm, 1 final (take-home/in-class optional). Pretty typical workload.

Rosemary Taylor | SOC108 - Epidemics | Sociology2004-11-08

Review:
This is the worst class I've ever taken at Tufts. The professor was consistently late, did not explain herself or her assignments and showed no concern for student's progress. She was extremely slow at returning work and boring in class. To top it off several students from the class never received any grade for the course because the professor did not grade re-writes of a mid-term paper.

Workload:
Assignments were not straightforward but there was not a ridiculous amount of work. She did however, assign a final essay about a book that she knew most of the class did not buy until the 3rd to last week of classes because of a mix up at the bookstore.
