Review:
Professor Penvenne is the best teacher I've had in my year at Tufts. She's extremely passionate about what she teaches, and has extensive knowledge of many aspects of both African history and current events. She initially comes off as strict, but is very friendly. She does have a tendency to switch her overheads around a lot, which annoys some people. She taught me more than I've learned in any other class.

Workload:
There is a lot of reading for the course, but it is usually only necessary to read what applies to topics that you want to write about in essays or on tests. It is imperative that you attend class and take lots of notes. ID's on tests are based on material in class.
