Review:
Professor Hasselman has been by far the best professor I have had at Tufts. His lectures are engaging and spell out the material perfectly with humor and insight. He obviously loves and knows the topic and cares about his students. He is a little hard to talk to outside of class until you get to know him, but is very open. It?s really too bad he's leaving after this semester.

Review:
This was a wonderful class. Do not be afraid to take this if you've never studied international relations or the EU, because the professor is incredibly clear in his lectures and makes the topic fun and understandable. It is a pleasure to take a course from a professor who is well studied in the subject and passionate about the topic.
Workload:
There is a fair amount of reading, but the professor makes sense of it all in class and gives a clear explanation of what should be understood.

Review:
I took two classes this semester about the EU, one in Econ. department, the other with Prof. Hasselmann. The first class was had very broad material and Prof. wasn't all that organized. However, Prof. Hasselman was really really great. He is very organized. The most important things, a.k.a outline, he writes on the board. He is interesting, engages class. Shortly, he is 'straight to business' type person. We had 1 midterm, no surprise, was not that hard. Then a paper and a take home final exam - two essays. If you want to learn something about the EU, take this class (PS51).

Review:
Professor Hasselmann is a very intelligent, enthusiastic, and helpful professor. He is always willing to help outside of class. Very open to all opinions, and very fair with grading.
Workload:
About 50 pages of reading per class, with a mid-term and final exam. About average workload.
