Tufts University: David Cochrane - Biology - Professor ratings, reviews and much more | JumboAccess
David Cochrane | BIO116 - General Physiology II | Biology2005-08-08

Review:
Professor Cochrane is a wonderful professor. He has a bizarre sense of humor but truly cares for his students and the material he teaches. I greatly enjoyed listening to his lectures as they were fascinating and stimulating. He is willing to meet during his office hours or even make time outside of those set parameters. He held reviews for his exams which were very helpful. Cochrane is very very challenging and expects a great deal from his students in terms of studying and keeping up in lectures.

Workload:
3 exams total. That?s it. No homework or reading required but that doesn?t mean it isn?t crucial to study. The exams are insanely difficult.

David Cochrane | BIO116 - General Physiology II | Biology2005-05-17

Review:
Pr. Cochrane is excellent. He is not quite as enthusiastic as Pr. Bernheim, however, his lectures are very thorough and very interesting. He tends NOT to repeat himself, so be sure to raise your hand if you miss something. He is always available to discuss the material outside of class time (in office hours), and he really knows what he is talking about. Great course! I would definitely take another class with him.

Workload:
Exams were very difficult. 3 exams total, 1/3 of your grade each, no cumulative final. I suggest audiotaping the course, as exams are based solely on lecture material. The textbook is great, however, it does not go into as much detail as the lectures. A lot of work, but definitely worth it. Physiology is fun!
