Tufts University: Elena Rybak-Akimova - Chemistry - Professor ratings, reviews and much more | JumboAccess
Review:
Professor Rybak-Akimova was an enthusiastic lecturer and tried to make chemistry as interesting as possible (as hard as that may be). She even performed a couple of experiments in class. She did clarify material that was confusing in the book, and she was concerned about student's progress if approached about it. However, I think sometimes she forgot that we were in other classes, and the workload would be a little unreasonable. The material was difficult at times, but the tests were curved pretty well. I would take another class with this professor.
Workload:
There was a good amount of work for this class. There were weekly problem sets (which at times could be very lengthy), chem labs (with reports and pre-lab quizzes that were much easier than in bio labs), 3 tests, and a cumulative final. Definitely use the problem sets, suggested problems, and practice test to study for the tests.
