Tufts University: Deborah Schildkraut - Political Science - Professor ratings, reviews and much more | JumboAccess
Review:
Professor Schildkraut was great. There was a nice variety of readings (yes, some were boring, but most were interesting), although beware that parts may be repetitive for psych majors. Schildkraut was always very enthusiastic and prepared for class with helpful powerpoint presentations.
The professor's notes and comments were all very helpful; she wants students to do well.
Workload:
It is a political methodology course so there is a 5 page experiment design. Emphasis on design, not content.
There was an in-class midterm that was very straightforward. A helpful review sheet is given out about a week beforehand.
The last assignment is a 15-20 page research proposal. It requires a lot of background research since the idea is that the students idea will fit into existing research. Again, since it's a methodology course, a study or experiment design is a required part of the paper.
It looks like a lot of work, perhaps more than average, but it is very manageable. The deadlines are helpful and reasonable.
