Tufts University: HIST190RU - Worlds In Motion - History - Professor ratings, reviews and much more | JumboAccessReview:
This class is almost up to the student. It only meets once a week, but requires a lot of outside reading and movie viewing. The professor is very interested in the topic (global migration) but spends a lot of time talking about trivial facets of the topic and ignoring the big picture which should be emphasized as the class only meets once a week. It is an interesting way to learn about history but should not be taken unless you are willing to teach yourself.
Workload:
Lots of reading, movies. If you wanted to, you could avoid a lot of it and just read enough to write the ten page paper and final -- they are the only assignments for the course. But that would be wrong.

Tufts University: HIST190RU - Worlds In Motion - History - Professor ratings, reviews and much more | JumboAccessReview:
Professor Ueda has an encyclopedic knowledge of the material. There is no doubt that he is qualified to teach this class. However, to say that he teaches this class might be a mistake. The class is, unfortunately, extremely disorganized, to the point that the student presentations that were to be the centerpiece of mid-semester were forgotten about for a week while he rambled on about something irrelevant. Such is the nature of this class. I have learned little in the class, and the professor seems very detached from the students. As such, I would recommend not taking this class.
Workload:
There is a great deal of reading and required movie viewings. The 2 papers (midterm and final) have almost no guidelines to them, besides the length. The student presentations were similarly without guidance.
