Tufts University: Dana Simpson - Spanish - Professor ratings, reviews and much more | JumboAccess
Review:
This course was really a joy to take. Professor Simpson was very concerned with the students' progress, and worked hard to make sure everyone understood the material. The course was conducted entirely in spansh, except for a few times when things needed to be clarified. The tests are challenging, but very fair. Grammar concepts were covered, but not emphasized. The emphasis was on reading and conversation, mostly. I definitely recommend this course and this professor to anyone interested in studying spanish.
Workload:
The workload is what you make it. Ideally, you should be reading the chapter, and preparing before each class. That way you can actively participate.
As far as written assignments, the class is assigned short "Diarios" for each chapter. There are three compositions (about 2 pages long). There are workbook exercises that must be done before each test. There is an Oral Presentation, four exams, and a final exam. There is also a mandatory recitation, but the one I was in did not have any homework assigned.
