Tufts University: Jessica Gugino - History - Professor ratings, reviews and much more | JumboAccess
Review:
She's an extremely sweet lady (she brought cookies and chocolate to the final exam) and is very concerned with student's progress. She's easy to get a hold of outside of class and due dates are relatively flexible as long as you have a plausible reason. The lectures are a little boring, but her teaching style grew on me as the course progressed, and for the most part, the material is interesting. I'd take another class with her.
Workload:
The workload is not too heavy. There's a lot of reading but as long as you listen to her lectures, you don't necessarily need to do the reading to do well on the exams. She gives a study guide of terms and concepts for the two midterms and the final- exams are a combination of identifications and essays. There's also 10-12 page research paper, but it's very open-ended. Overall, it was pretty reasonable.
