Tufts University: Michelle Gaudette - Biology - Professor ratings, reviews and much more | JumboAccess
Review:
Professor Gaudette was just mediocre. She knew what she was talking about, but wasn't very personable or engaging with the students. The lectures and recitations were important because examples not found in the text were used on quizzes. She uses powerpoint while lecturing, which is good and bad. It makes it easier to follow along, but a bit tricky to take notes since the lecture goes faster and the diagrams used on the powerpoint are frequently not the same diagrams from the text. She does not put the powerpoint lectures on blackboard.
Workload:
Quizzes every week in recitation, two tests, and a final. Reading is only from the intro text. The reading seems straightforward, but she never asked matter-of-fact or memorization questions. Pay particular attention to the chemistry of everything. The class was more challenging than I expected because the professor wasn't engaging and tests were difficult.
