Tufts University: EC003 - Principles of Accounting - Economics - Professor ratings, reviews and much more | JumboAccessReview:
The material is pretty boring and the class draws out forever but thats Accounting for you. Charles Murphy has some funny jokes to make the time go by and is very clear and gives good lectures. Book is also very clear if you need clarification.
Workload:
Optional homework. 3 tests (not cumulative). Tests were fair and were good assessments of the lectures.

Accounting may seem like a boring topic. But Professor Murphy does a really good job at making it fun and interesting. He teaches in a manner which is very easy to understand and is very interested in how your are doing and if you understand everything. He adds in a couple jokes here and there and also adds his personal experiences into his lectures. Definitely a good professor and makes you understand how the money flows in businesses.
Workload:
3 tests and optional homework which he goes over next class. Good idea to do your homework. If you go to all the lectures and take good notes, no need to read textbook. The tests are straight from his lectures and no surprises.

For a subject which one might consider dull, Professor Murphy certainly does his best to make the class interesting! He is a good complement to the textbook since he sometimes tends to explain things better than the book itself. His jokes are funny and you are guaranteed at least a couple of laughs throughout the class. I would recommend his course.
Workload:
No required homework. He assigns practice problems to do on your own and then he reviews them in the next class. It is definitely to your benefit to do these problems - it helps you to understand the material much, much better. Grades are based on 3 exams throughout the semester, including a final exam.
