Tufts University: Judith Haber - English - Professor ratings, reviews and much more | JumboAccess
Judith Haber | ENG118 - Renaissance Drama | English2005-08-08

Review:
Judith Haber really cares about her students and she molds her teachings around what the class contributes. She is always very enthusiastic and animated which makes the play come alive. The plays themselves are classics and are quite interesting. During every class, she thoroughly picks them apart. It is necessary to contribute to the conversation or she will cold-call you and it makes for better class discussion when people aren't shy.

Workload:
There were two papers and essay final. The final took a lot of time, but if you had read all the plays and paid at least some attention in class, you were fine. The papers required more than just good prose, but original ideas to do well. The topics were very broad.

Judith Haber | ENG051 - General View of English Literature | English2005-04-13

Review:
Professor Haber is very enthusiastic when it comes to the different topics. She encourages participation and makes some very interesting observations and analysis. This is a good class to start with if you're contemplating majoring in English.

Workload:
The readings were somewhat short but that's because it starts in Middle English and works itself up to Shakespeare like English. The point is to carefully analyze the text to do well in the 3 papers and final exam.

Judith Haber | ENG068 - Shakespeare | English2004-07-16

Review:
This is the best class I have taken at Tufts so far, and Professor Haber is the most enthusiastic teacher I think I have ever had. She encourages class participation and was available outside of class. I learned a lot and would highly recommend this class if you like English and/or Shakespeare.

Workload:
Workload is definitely manageable - if you come to class and pay attention the final isn't hard.

Judith Haber | ENG068 - Shakespeare | English2004-07-11

Review:
I found this class extremely boring and difficult to sit through. The professor rambled on and didn?t make sense. She did encourage participation and tried to get to know students' names, but since it was so boring only a few people were actually awake.

Workload:
The workload wasn't too bad. There was a play almost every week or 1.5 weeks, two decent papers and a killer final. You could get away with not reading the plays and just reading sparknotes, but then class would be impossible to sit through and you'd be screwed for the final.

Judith Haber | ENG068 - Shakespeare | English2004-04-09

Review:
The professor is extremely enthusiastic and is able to keep the class interested and involved in discussion.

Workload:
Reading of one play every week or week and a half, depending on the length. Occasional pop quizzes on reading, but very easy. Two papers and a final. Extremely manageable workload.
