Tufts University: George McNinch - Mathematics - Professor ratings, reviews and much more | JumboAccess
Review:
Nice guy but HORRIBLE teacher. Talks too fast, has trouble articulating the application of theorems. He spends more time showing you the proofs of the theorems - how they originated..etc. - so he never has time to teach you how to apply the theorems to the homework.
In the end, you learn by yourself by reading the textbook.
I'm not particularly good or bad at math but this professor just totally killed any interest in it. If you take this class, definitely get MARY GLAZER instead because there is so much material and so many similar theorems that it gets a confusing (the textbook uses a lot of flowery, circumspecting ways of solving the problems also) so it is beneficial to have a good professor who teaches CLEARLY and gives out organized handouts.
Workload:
Pretty standard. Class meets three times a week and homework is due at class each time. Most people spend about an hour to two hours of homework for each assignment.
